I'm a scrapbooker, so all those thousands of pictures I took in Europe will most definitely be put in an album...but I wanted a way to display some of my favorites in my home, out where people can see them! So I decided on a Gallery Wall, and 3 months later I finally have it done!! And I must say I LOVE it! :)
The box of frames I came home with from my mom! (This is where the 80's play in :))
Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not all that into the 80's...at least not the color and decor choices from that decade :) So out came that trusty can of Behr white paint!
Here's a great look of those pre-painted frames :) Aren't they glorious?!
I laid out all the frames I had, and worked them around until I liked how they looked. And then moved them around a few more times!
Then I got out a roll of Christmas wrapping paper and laid it on the floor...And placed all the frames where I wanted them. I then traced each frame on to the wrapping paper with a marker. I also measured each frame to see where I would need to put the nail to hang it. I then measured on that same point on the paper and marked it.
I taped the paper to the wall, and tried my best to make it level! :) And of course, forgot to take a picture at that step! Sorry! Anyways, I pounded in all the nails exactly where I had marked them on the paper and then carefully ripped the paper off the wall...leaving all my "perfectly placed nails" :)
Hanging the frames, and making them straight and level was so much easier with this method than I would have ever thought! I am a firm believer in wrapping paper today :)
Now I need to figure out what I'm going to do on the mantel :) But for now...some of my favorite Europe pictures are up! I love walking in the house and being reminded of the great trip we had. And all the beautiful places we saw!
That is adorable! I would of never thought to frame the smaller frames inside of a bigger one!
