Things that make me smile...

Oh where to start?! The long bench...the beamed ceiling...the glass walls...the openness...I could go on and on!

New Car!!

I got a new car last week...its pretty much "just for fun!" I have this "thing" about cars...especially nice cars! Fast cars! Beautiful cars! Its in my blood, I have no control :) So for now, I'm simply embracing that "thing"!

So this week I've spent a lot of time simply enjoying my new toy :) And trying to master the six speed!!

What do the 80's and Wall Art have in common?

I'm a scrapbooker, so all those thousands of pictures I took in Europe will most definitely be put in an album...but I wanted a way to display some of my favorites in my home, out where people can see them! So I decided on a Gallery Wall, and 3 months later I finally have it done!! And I must say I LOVE it! :)

The box of frames I came home with from my mom! (This is where the 80's play in :))

Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not all that into the 80's...at least not the color and decor choices from that decade :) So out came that trusty can of Behr white paint!

Here's a great look of those pre-painted frames :) Aren't they glorious?!

I laid out all the frames I had, and worked them around until I liked how they looked. And then moved them around a few more times!

Then I got out a roll of Christmas wrapping paper and laid it on the floor...And placed all the frames where I wanted them. I then traced each frame on to the wrapping paper with a marker. I also measured each frame to see where I would need to put the nail to hang it. I then measured on that same point on the paper and marked it.

I taped the paper to the wall, and tried my best to make it level! :) And of course, forgot to take a picture at that step! Sorry! Anyways, I pounded in all the nails exactly where I had marked them on the paper and then carefully ripped the paper off the wall...leaving all my "perfectly placed nails" :)

Hanging the frames, and making them straight and level was so much easier with this method than I would have ever thought! I am a firm believer in wrapping paper today :)

Now I need to figure out what I'm going to do on the mantel :) But for now...some of my favorite Europe pictures are up! I love walking in the house and being reminded of the great trip we had. And all the beautiful places we saw!

Gallery Walls

I attempted a gallery wall in my living room this weekend...I've been wanting to for awhile, but needed to acquire lots of frames first :) But not wanting to spend a lot of money on them I was waiting to find some great deals! Or better yet, some free ones! And by golly I found them! From none other than mom :) She sent me home with a box full the last time I went to visit, so then it was just a matter of painting them! Hopefully I'll get some completed pictures up this week, I'm waiting for a couple pictures I ordered to actually fill the frames :)

Here's some great wall galleries...ah, inspiration!

Have you guys attempted any art walls? Or how bout those ones in the staircase...I think that's so cool! But I have no idea how hanging all those frames above the stairs would ever be accomplished!
